christians, when was the last generation that knew a christmas without commercialization?
even the 1947 movie, "miracle on 34th street" has commercialization as a major theme…
sue: see my reference to the 1947 movie… the problem existed then too

This will be my 49th Christmas and I have never seen one that was not commercialized.

As long as there has been Christmas gift giving, there have been businesses advertising at Christmas.

It’s just gotten worse.

Growing up in the fifties, it was all about Jesus, they were the good old years

I still have a traditional christmas with my familly and freinds. Everything is homemade, including the decorations and entertainment. It does not require much effort to do things yourself and is much more interesting. I haven’t decided whether to make any "good life" christmas crackers yet, if there is a demand for them then I will.

I was brought up in the 70’s and we always made our own food and decoration from scratch. Since then I have always been an environmentalist and it is instinctive for me to ignore advertisement for things I don’t want or need.
