Black Friday?

I just heard about Black Friday…so what exactly is it? Do ALL stores go on sale?
And also I’m thinking of maybe going shopping then, -but will it be really crowded? (I’m going to the mall) And also will it be really crowded on Saturday? Will there still be sales on Saturday? Will everything be sold out by Saturday? Thanks!

(happy thanksgiving!)

I don’t really know what Black Friday means, I CERTAINLY know what it is though!! It is the best shopping day of the year, stores open REALLY early, and they have amazing sales. Pretty much all stores will have some sales, but some are better than others, so you should look through your local newspaper ads, and plan out where you want to go. Some stores will still have sales on Saturday, but they won’t be nearly as good as the sales on Friday. And yes, most good deals will be sold out by Saturday.

Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving in the United States, where it is the beginning of the traditional Christmas shopping season. Since Thanksgiving falls on the fourth Thursday in November in the United States, Black Friday may be as early as the 23rd and as late as the 29th day of November. Black Friday is not an official holiday, but many employers give the day off, allowing consumers to get a head start on their Christmas shopping. Retailers often decorate for the Christmas season weeks beforehand. Many retailers open very early (typically 5 A.M.) and offer doorbuster deals and loss leaders to draw people to their stores. Although Black Friday, as the first shopping day after Thanksgiving, has served as the unofficial beginning of the Christmas season at least since the start of the modern Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in 1924, the term "Black Friday" has been traced back only to the 1970s. "Black Friday" was originally so named because of the heavy traffic on that day, although most contemporary uses of the term refer instead to it as the beginning of the period in which retailers are in the black (i.e., turning a profit).

The news media frequently refer to Black Friday as the busiest retail shopping day of the year, but this is not always accurate. While it has been one of the busiest days in terms of customer traffic, in terms of actual sales volume, from 1993 through 2001 Black Friday was usually the fifth to tenth busiest day. In 2002 and 2004, however, Black Friday ranked second place. The busiest retail shopping day of the year in the United States (in terms of both sales and customer traffic) usually has been the Saturday before Christmas. In 2003 and 2005, however, Black Friday actually did reach first place.

In some cities it’s not uncommon to see shoppers lined up hours before stores with big sales open. Once inside the stores shoppers often rush and grab, as many stores have only a few of the big draw items. Electronics and popular toys are often the most sought after items and may be sharply discounted. Because of the shoulder-to-shoulder crowds, many choose to stay home and avoid the hectic shopping experience. The local media often will cover the event, mentioning how early the shoppers began lining up at various stores and providing video of the shoppers standing in line and later leaving with their purchased items. Traditionally Black Friday sales were intended for those shopping for Christmas gifts. For some particularly popular items, some shop these sales in order to get deep discounts on items they can then resell, typically online.

I would like to know where is my Idle contol valve located on a 03 cadillac escalade ext.?

My truck is stalling out and rpm goes down real low when i turn my wheel or it may just died out,I am thinking its my icv is bad.If someone else have a solution please let me know

The Idle Air Control Valve (IAC) controls the engine idle speed . This output actuator is mounted on the throttle body and is controlled by voltage pulses sent from the PCM (COMPUTER ). The IAC valve pintle moves in or out allowing more or less intake air into the system according to the engine conditions. To increase idle speed the PCM retracts the IAC valve pintle away from the seat and allows more air to bypass the throttle bore. To decrease idle speed the PCM extends the IAC valve pintle towaeds the seat reducing the air flow

Did the Endeavor land in California today?

Because i felt a really huge bang and i thought it was a bomb, lol.
And if you dont know what the endeavor is its a space shuttle(:
all answers appreciated.
thanks

Yes, on Edwards AFB.

They did not land in Florida, because the weather there is really bad and will stay really bad for a few days. Of course… landing in Edwards costs more money, 1.8 million USD more, that’s why they don’t do this all the time.

am i the only one who found paranormal activity to be incredibly…NOT scary?
I didn’t jump once during the film, but everywhere on the enternet I read that it terrified most people. And movie critics gave it a 3.5 out of 4. Does anyone else agree with me?

Yes, it was one of the worst movies I have ever seen. It was like staring at a wall for 90 minutes. And you could see the scare at the end coming 30 minutes before it happened. Waste of time and money, I asked for my money back, I’ve never done that before.

I think for the most part it’s only scary if you believe that it’s real, ifiyou don’t it’ll look really cheezy. Some of my friends said they laughed at some scenes.

I need a pair of aviator style sunglasses built to withstand a beating. Know of any?
I’m starting the police academy in August, and upon completion I’ll need a pair of durable, polarized sunglasses to deal with the high glare and potentially violent environment I’ll be faced with on a daily basis. I’d like to find a pair of aviator style glasses as well. What do you recommend?

I would recommend:

 http://www.optical4less.com/alloy-eyegla sses/MA067/

They cost only 15$ for prescription sunglasses. If you don’t want the prescription, then it is fine. I bought the same pair from O4L and they are awesome. I’ve been using them for a year now. Usually, I drop my sunglasses a lot so for 15$ it’s in great quality and shape. Good luck!

There is a great selection of aviators all over the internet, but don’t get ripped off! A couple sites that have a great selection at a cheap price are Sunglass Shack and Captain Dave’s. If you don’t find the pair or price you are looking for i would try swarming for it at eswarm.

Hope this helps!

brees williams fargas driver ward gonz fargas knox
DC | Nov 14, 2009

Obvious ones: Brees, DeAngelo, Johnson

Others:
-Hines: Great WR in Offense quickly drifting towards passing
-Gonzales: Premier TE, may retire soon but the goal of the league is to win every year, and he gives you a chance to win in the near future more than anyone else
-Beanie: when warner retires, this offense will drift more towards the run, beanie is an explosive runner who could be a top-10 back
-Knox: Cutler is a franchise QB, he’ll get it to this guy eventually
-Coffee: High potential, could be dealt next year to team in need of RB and break out

Who Not:
-Ricky: will go sharply down in next year/2
-DD: Hasn’t found place this year at all
-Favre: Might not play past this year, already have QB
-Henderson: already have recievers, wont see much action with other recievers in NO
-Fargas: he sucks

Mousavi as Zhao Ziyang, Khamenei as Deng Xiaoping, Ahmadinejad as Li Peng?

and before you say,
"Yeah, and look what happened",
consider.

If what I understand correctly, as well as the mass murder and brutal suppression of political dissidents, the Communist party in China maintains its rule by letting off some pressure in the form of:

(1) economic reforms
(2) easing up on cultural freedoms
and
(3) allowing Hong Kong to maintain a lot of its relative freedom.

Presumably Chinese might also be able to look to Macao, Taiwan, and Singapore.

What do the mullarchs in Iran have to offer the people
–the young people in particular
–particularly while Admadinejad is pro-natalist, China has pursued a "one-child" policy.

(1) Will admadinejad loosen up the economy–and anger many of his poorer supporters;
or make Los Angeles, and perhaps to a lesser extent London and (my beloved–ha!!) Toronto as de facto Iranian urban economic centres and capital?

(2) Will they ease up on the culture?

(3) Will they allow some autonomous zone of Freedom?

Answers and comments will be perused and appreciated.

Morteza | Jun 19, 2009

OMG this is long.

Ok, here goes.

1. No, he wont. If anything after the latest that has been happening since the election, I foresee him being more strict and harsh.
Hey, if they can’t have the freedoms they want and deserve in Iran, I say move here!!!

2. Nope. I think it will become more conservative. Which is what people are wanting to move away from.

3. Not at all. Even now, there are limited freedoms – and those only really apply to men.
Oberon – ressurected | Jun 19, 2009

It was different time, the Tiananmen Square marked the end of Stalinst/Communist nations. But the similarity is that Mousavi and ZhaoZiyang both favored a western style of "democracy", I think Mousavi actually copied Obama’s slogan "Hope and Change" lol. So there’re some similarities but what happened in Beijing had much much more impact than what is happening now in Tehran. The Tank man is one of the greatest person ever lived!
